The National Monuments Service's description
Uncovered during pre-development excavation (Excavation Licence No. 94E0063). Excavations revealed a medieval building with its foundations resting on the foundations of the N side of the Tholsel gate. A second building was also uncovered with a late medieval or post medieval date. The earliest finds from the site consisted of 14th/15th century pottery. (Murphy 1995, 59-60)
