The National Monuments Service's description
Excavated as part of the Dundalk Western by-pass project (Excavation Licence No. 03E0867). Two probable hut sites and a third possible one were uncovered. The huts were circular shallow hollows (diam. 3m) with associated post/ stake holes and pits. They were originally thought to date to the Neolithic (Delaney 2006, 340), but more detailed analysis dated them as middle to late Bronze Age (Delaney 2009, 39). A single cremation pit (LH004-140----) was discovered c. 20m to W. The excavator suggests that more remains may possibly be outside the road take (Delaney 2009, 47).
