The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Sub-circular area (int. dims. 30m N-S, 25.5m E-W) enclosed by two banks with intervening fosse. Inner bank (Wth 5.6m, H 1.56m internally, 2.1m externally), fosse (Wth 3.4m, D 1m) and outer bank of large stones and earth (Wth 2m, H 1.4m internally, 0.5m externally). Ancient entrance gap (Wth 1.5m) in inner bank and causeway (Wth 5.3m) across fosse at SW. Possible souterrain (LH004-025002-) in interior. Site now levelled. (CUCAP, AYM 46)
