The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Sub-circular area (int. dims. 49m NNW-SSE, 44.5m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (Wth 6.3m, H 2m internally, 2.5m externally), now largely reduced to a scarp in the SW quadrant. Externally fosse (Wth 5.5m, D 1.6m) survives from NNW-N-E-SE, with remains of a modern stone wall around the outer edge of the fosse from NE-E-SE. The interior of the site is divided in two by a modern field wall, running NNW-SSE.
