The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Circular area (int. diam. 35m) enclosed by earth and stone bank (Wth 7m, H 1.2m internally, 1.8m externally), best preserved on E and W but replaced elsewhere by modern stone walls. There are traces of both original internal and external stone facings beneath the modern field walls. Slight traces of external fosse (Wth 3.2m, D 0.2m) at E. Ancient entrance at E (Wth 2.3m) has both sides faced with large stones.
