The National Monuments Service's description
On a glacial till island on the foreshore of Lough Kinale. An assemblage of stone and chert objects, comprising 57 chert flakes, a small polished stone axe and a possible hammerstone, of Late Mesolithic date was recovered from this location in 1969; referred to in the literature as 'Lough Kinale 2' because of its association with a possible crannog (LF011-066002-) identified c. 20m to the N (Mitchell 1970; Raftery 1972; O'Sullivan 1998, 51). It is likely that the finds are associated with the possible crannog (Fredengren et al. 2010, 137-8).
