The National Monuments Service's description
This togher (L 4.72m min.; Wth 0.88m; D 0.05m; ), orientated NE-SW, was composed of a single layer of transverse brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.045m; L 0.03-0.38m), occasional twigs and wood chips. It was in poor condition due to truncation by modern drainage and agriculture. These had particularly impacted on the NW edge where the wood appeared to have been dragged, displaced and truncated. In addition, many pieces appeared to have been pushed into the peat at angles of up to 45º. Wood-working was evidenced by metal-cut toolmarks on over twenty pieces. Wood species included birch, ash alder and holly. Radiocarbon dating revealed a date range of 390-170 cal BC (2204±39 BP; Wk-25190). The togher lay 4m E of another togher (LF004-051----) (Moore and O'Connor 2009b, 15, TOM 3).
