The National Monuments Service's description
This togher (L 16.9m min.; Wth 1.45m max.; D 0.2m), orientated NE-SW, was composed predominantly of closely laid longitudinal brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.05m; L 5m max.) with two pieces of transverse brushwood spaced 0.25m apart. Large gaps along its length were filled with scattered fragments of brushwood. The maximum width of the togher was 1.45m, however, this was due to sporadic irregularly laid material and the actual togher surface width was c. 0.5m. The wood used was in good condition, only one piece had evidence of having been worked with a stone tool, the remainder of the branches were simply torn. The wood species used was hazel. The togher was located 0.04m beneath another togher (LF004-042----) and c. 1.9m below and, to the N of a further togher (LF004-039----) (Moore and O’Connor 2009a, 43, EDC 48).
