The National Monuments Service's description
This togher (L 10.5m; Wth 3.6m; D 0.3m), orientated N‑S, consisted of sparsely laid longitudinal roundwood (av. diam. 0.07m; av. L 1m), brushwood (av. diam. 0.04m; av. L 0.3m) and twigs. Fragmentary and irregularly laid brushwood and twigs were also included throughout, but particularly towards the S end. A single peg (diam. 0.07m; L 0.35m) was set at 90° at the S end. At the N end was a scatter of c. seven woodchips (each c. 0.06m x 0.06m x 0.01m). The wood was in a good condition and c. 20% of the brushwood retained well‑preserved bark. Species used included birch and alder. Metal‑cut toolmarks were present on a moderate number of elements. The togher lay 0.05m above a platform (LF004‑041‑‑‑‑). Radiocarbon dating revealed a date range of 397‑203 cal BC (Wk‑21257) (Moore and O’Connor 2009a, 19, EDC 6).
