The National Monuments Service's description
A platform (L 3.05m; Wth 3.91m; D 0.17m) composed of eight roundwoods (diam. 0.065-0.125m) and occasional brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.04m) was orientated NE-SW. In the NE corner was a deposit of bark fragments and 2m from the SW edge was a piece of brushwood orientated NW-SE. The elements were laid one piece deep and were concentrated at the NW side of the platform, with a noticeable gap in the central area. Four pegs (diam. 0.04-0.06m; L 0.52-1.44m) were set at angles of 60° at the four corners. The condition of the wood varied from poor to good and the species used included hazel and alder. Metal-cut toolmarks were present on several roundwoods. The platform lay 0.5m below a togher (LF004-026----), and in structure was very similar to another platform (LF004-011----). Radiocarbon dating revealed a date range of 980-800 cal BC (Wk-20954) (Moore and O’Connor 2009a, 36, EDC 34).
