The National Monuments Service's description
A deposit of wood (L 3.3m min.; Wth 2m; D 0.2m) was composed of fragmentary brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.055m; L 0.1-0.15m), twigs, small pieces of split wood (av. D 0.06m) and a single roundwood. These were laid one to two pieces deep and the majority were orientated NE-SW, with the single roundwood laid perpendicularly to this. Located 0.6m to the E was a second deposit of irregularly laid brushwood and twigs. A fragmentary hazel withy was recovered from this material. The wood was in good condition with several metal-cut toolmarks recovered. The deposit lay just above the central portion of a bend in a togher (LF004-024----) and the single roundwood extended down into the peat and abutted the SE end of another togher (LF004-029----), which lay c. 0.1-0.2m below. The deposit extended beyond the development footprint to the W (Moore and O’Connor 2009a, 28, EDC 21).
