The National Monuments Service's description

Located on level, poorly drained, low-lying rough pasture, c. 150m NW of Kilmaddaroe Lough. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 28m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by a low earthen bank (at E: Wth of base 7.1m; Wth of top 3.0m; int. H 0.05; ext. H 0.1m) NNW-E-SW, which is incorporated in a tree-lined field bank (at NW: Wth of base 3.1m; Wth of top 1.2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.1m) and outer drain (at NW: Wth of top 2.8m; ext. D 0.5m) W-NNW. From a point at W the field bank runs SE over the SW arc of the enclosure. There are modern gaps through the field bank at SSW and W, but three is no evidence of an original entrance or fosse.
