The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in a flat low-lying position on the S bank of an E-W branch of the Yellow River, with a loop of the stream c. 50m to the N. This is a grass-covered subcircular platform (dims 32m E-W; 29m N-S) with lazy-beds defined by a field bank N-E-SSW which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.25m) elsewhere, and an outer band of reeds N-NE. The original entrance is not identified.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
