The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a local prominence in an area of rock outcrop. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) with bushes on the perimeter only on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was described in 1943 as a 'D-shaped area cut by a field bank at E' with internal dimensions of about 21 yards N-S x about 24 yards E-W (c.19m N-S; c. 22m E-W) (OSFM). The area is now occupied by a grass-covered quarry.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
