The National Monuments Service's description
The sweat house is indicated but not named on the 1835 ed. of the OS 6-inch map with a farmhouse c. 150m to the NE. It is located towards the bottom of an E-facing slope and is attached on the NE side of a NW-SE field bank. This is a roofless and overgrown chamber within a mound (diam. 2.8m NE-SW; 2.8m NW-SE; H 0.3m-0.6m) faced with stones. The entrance (Wth 0.6m; H 0.8m) is at E.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
