The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a prominent hill on the floor of the NW-SE Glenade valley, and it is described as ‘Lismoyle’ in gothic lettering on the 1945 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This is a grass and reed-covered subcircular area (int. dims 34.4m E-W; 31m N-S) defined by a round-topped, steep-sided earthen bank (Wth 2.9m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.9m generally to 1.3m at NE). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. The perimeter is circumscribed by a field bank SSW-N.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
