The National Monuments Service's description
In reclaimed pasture, on NW facing slope of rising ground in upland area with marshy land immediately to the W and spring well 15m to the NW. Hilltop ringfort (LA035-054----) located 100m to the SE. This fulacht fia was discovered by the landowner when he was ploughing the land in preparation for forestry plantation. A trench (Wth 1m; D 1.2m) running N-S revealed a large spread of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil (L 13m; D 0.3m-1m) which was visible in the W facing section of the trench. At the base of the trench there was the remains of a water-filled pit (D 0.3m; Wth 1m) which may have been the location of the trough associated with the fulacht fia. This monument was not visible prior to ploughing of the field.
