The National Monuments Service's description
Within the multiperiod church (KK030-004001-) of Coolaghmore. It is described by Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 336), as an, 'ancient Baptismal Font, built for safety into the south window of the chancel, is of freestone; it is octagonal and well-cut, on the outside and ornamented on the top surface of the rim. It still retains traces of the iron hinge which secured the lid. The bowl, which is round, is 19 in. [0.48m] wide and 8 in. [0.2m]deep, and is perforated at the bottom'.
A sandstone font (total Wth 0.56m; Wth between chamfers 0.42m; ext. H 0.28m) with a low circular pedestal (diam. 0.39m; H 0.09m). The font is octagonal, the corners being chamfered, with a circular basin (Wth 0.49m; D 0.19m) and central drain hole (Wth 0.025m).
