Associated with the medieval church (KK026-020001-) which according to Carrigan (1905, vol. 4, 44) was dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin. The church is located on an artificially raised area c. 50 SSE of Ballytobin house, with good views to the WSW and NW. The OS Letters of 1839 (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 38 (28-9)) mention that there was, 'a large burying ground here till about thirty years ago [c. 1809] the proprietor, Mr. Baker, leveled it with the rest of the field'. The graveyard is indicated as a roughly circular area (diam. c. 30m) on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map with the church in the S portion. Trees are depicted around the perimeter of the enclosure. There is no indication of a graveyard on the 1948 revision of the OS 6-inch map. A irregular dashed area is depicted surrounding the church on the 25-inch OS map, indicating a physically unenclosed area (dims. c. 60m NW-SE; c. 40m NE-SW). Some burials where excavated within the church in the 19th century (Carrigan 1905, vol. 4, 44). There are also some headstones within the church and a private burial plot adjoining its W gable externally.
