The National Monuments Service's description
At the base of a gentle SE-facing slope in poorly drained pasture, with good views from E-SE. Another moated site (KK020-017----) is located c. 450m to the WNW and an enclosure (KK026-019----) c. 500m to the E. A raised rectangular area (dims. 60m E-W x 55m N-S) enclosed by a denuded bank (max. ext. H 1.7m; Wth 4m) and fosse/moat (Wth 4.5m) (Barry 1977, 189). The bank, which is overgrown with mature trees and brambles, is best preserved on the W side. It has been breached on the SE and NW side and at the N end of the NE side in order to accommodate gates. The waterlogged fosse/moat is only preserved on the E side, elsewhere it has been infilled. There are two relatively modern farm buildings in the interior, both aligned NW-SE, one in the N portion and one S of centre. A shallow channel (Wth 2.8m) extending NE to a field drain from the E side of the fosse may represent a leat.
