The National Monuments Service's description
On an E-facing slope in an area of relatively flat pasture, with views only to the E. Another moated site (KK020-018----) is located c. 450m to the ESE. Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 38m N-S; c. 46m or 70m E-W) immediately S and SE of a farmyard, with buildings in a square arrangement. The 1948 revision of the OS 6-inch map suggests that a larger area, including the farmyard, is the moated site, the whole being enclosed by a water-filled channel. According to Barry (1977, 189) the moated site consisted of a flat platform with an entrance on the N side (Wth 3.4m) and the moat was removed in 1964.
A large roughly square platform (dims. c. 76m N-S; c. 80m E-W) formerly enclosed by a fosse/moat, of which only shallow traces are visible along S side and at the S end of the E side. There is a house in the NW sector and large agricultural buildings occupy the centre of the interior with two large silage pits immediately to the E, within the monument, and further buildings have been added which continue outside the former enclosing fosse/moat.
