The National Monuments Service's description
A subrectangular enclosure (c. 95m NE-SW; c. 60 NW-SE) hachured on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map with a straight NW-SE boundary dividing the enclosure in two. It is visible on an aerial photograph (GSIAP, S 303) and on satellite imagery (Google Earth imagery date 14 July 2018), though the SE portion of the bank is only visible as a cropmark, indicating a fosse. Local information records a slightly raised area enclosed by a ‘ditch’ in a field known as the ‘Rath’ field. Human remains (KK025-003001-) were discovered during bulldozing in 1958 when the enclosure was being levelled. Most of the bone was disturbed but some remains were in a supine position, aligned E-W, at a depth of 0.3-0.6m below ground level. (Cahill and Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 485)
