The National Monuments Service's description

On a gentle NE-facing slope of glacial till that leads down to the Monefelim River. Excavated in 2008 in advance of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road improvement scheme (Licence no. E3852). A subcircular pit with a deposit of burnt bone over which lay a charcoal-rich layer of burnt bone and pyre material. Large pieces of human bone were present. A possible cremation pit (KK021-046---) lay c. 5m to the N and a Neolithic structure (KK021-043----) lay c. 9m to the E. (Devine and Zimny 2009; Devine 2010, 245-6, 923)
