The National Monuments Service's description
Located c. 80m S of a river which joins the River Barrow c. 1.5km to the E, in a small field immediately N of a farmyard. On the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map it is described as, ‘Lord Galmoys Castle (in ruins)’ and a small rectangular building is depicted (dims. c. 8m N-S; c. 4m E-W). By the 1900 revision the above ground remains appear to have gone as it is depicted as, ‘Lord Galmoys Castle (Site of)’.
