The National Monuments Service's description
On raised ground, c. 130m W of the River Nore, within a N-S band of woodland, which expands at the S end to accommodate the church (KK020-050001-) and graveyard of St Fiachra. St Fiachra's Well (KK020-050004-) is located c. 70m to the SE. The extent of the roughly oval graveyard (dims. c. 34m N-S; c. 22m E-W) is shown on the 1st (1839) 6-inch OS map and on the 1900 revision with a dashed line which indicates that it was unenclosed. It is described in the OS Letters (1839) as, 'a small burying ground' (O'Flanagan ed. 1930, vol. 1, 279 (94). Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 219) describes it as, 'small in extent, and has no trace of any fosse, rampart, or enclosing wall' and mentions that there are only 'three inscribed monuments', dating from the 1758 to 1869, 'some rough headstones' and a statue (effigy) of a cleric (KK020-050003-).
