The National Monuments Service's description

On a waterlogged valley floor which is criss-crossed with numerous small streams. Found during land works in 1983, an area of stone paving (max. dims. c. 20m E-W x c. 10m N-S) described as, ‘flat field stones, that seem to be fixed in some hard clay’. The N side is narrower (L c. 16m; Wth 2.7m). A shallow ditch, ‘like a plough furrow’ extended NE-SW from the E and W side (NMI, file IA/158/83). The E trench extends for at least 30m north-eastward to a former marsh. It is not visible at ground level. The function and date of this feature is unknown.
