The National Monuments Service's description

A castle and three houses (KK013-094002-) are indicated on the Down Survey map (1655-6) parish map of ‘Clonetubrid and Glasshicroe’ and the castle is also indicated on the Down Survey map (1655-6) parish map of ‘Belanemarra’ (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). According to O'Kelly (1969, 5), 'Sart castle stood in the Cellar field, so named from the castle cellar still remaining'. Field inspection in 1987 identified this field as being SE of Sart crossroads. However, in the field immediately S of this there is a large rectangular cropmark, visible on satellite imagery (Google Earth, imagery date 28 June 2018) which is likely to be a bawn (KK013-094003-) associated with the castle. The castle is not visible at ground level.
