The National Monuments Service's description

On the floor of the Nuenna river valley, above the flood plain, in mixed tillage and reclaimed grassland. There are good views along and across valley to N-S-E-W. There is a local tradition of burials associated with a church (KK013-028----) which is no longer visible at ground level. According to the OS Letters (1839) the church, 'has no burying ground attached' (O'Flanagan ed. 1930, vol. 1, 202 (67)). However, according to local sources human bones have been found in the small paddock immediately N of the church. This paddock is indicated as a roughly square wooded area (dims. c. 45m N-S; c. 43m E-W) on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map with the church in its SW angle.
