The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight hill on a valley floor surrounded by wet marshy land. Identified on Google earth satellite imagery (imagery date 3 August 2010), this is likely to be the same feature visited by the ASI in 1987 and described as a circular area (diam. 24m) enclosed by a low bank (H 0.2m; Wth 1m) planted with thorns and an outer fosse (Wth 2m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.25m). The interior is flat and at the same level as the field. There is no evidence of an entrance. The enclosure is not indicated on either the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map or on the 1900 revision, though the latter does indicate a small stand of trees at this location. It is possible that this is a tree-ring.
