The National Monuments Service's description

According to O'Kelly (1969, 26), the lands at Garryhiggin, 'were forfeited by John Grace in 1653 and granted to a Cromwellian captain named Charles Gore who named his portion Goresgrove'. A two-storey five-bay stone house with projecting chimney on the E gable was built onto the E wall of the tower house (KK012-055001-). The projecting chimney with massive stack with diagonal shafts suggests this is a 17th house (Craig 1976, 71). It appears to have been modified in the 18th/early 19th century to provide large regular fenestration with brick surrounds in the front N facade, with a central flat-headed doorway at ground level with round-headed broken-out fanlight above. There is a parapet above the cornice of the front facade.
