The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on a gentle N-facing slope, on the E bank of a tributary of the Drimminboy River. A kidney-shaped grass-covered mound (11m N-S; 6.1m E-W; H 1.25m) of burnt material with the opening (2.6m NW-SE; 1.5m NE-SW) facing SW. The river is eroding the tip of the W arm, exposing burnt stones and charcoal. Some burnt stones, which are being washed away by the river, are scattered along the river-bed downstream.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
