The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture, immediately E of a stream, on a break on the SW-facing slope of Cummeenbaun Mountain. A roughly heart-shaped sod-covered mound (9.6m NE-SW; 5.6m NW-SE; H 0.9m) of burnt material. Midway along the NW side, an indentation (1.8m NE-SW; 1m NW-SE) faces the stream. Some burnt material is exposed at NW, close to the stream. An enclosure (KE109-089002-) lies 10m to the SW, on the opposite bank of the stream.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
