Children's burial ground

Located in elevated pasture in the NW corner of a field, this site, not marked on the OS maps, is locally known as a burial ground. Situated 150m NW of KE106-014----, its roughly rectangular outline measures 9.25m N-S x 32m E-W. It is bounded on its N side by a stream, and elsewhere by field walls. A number of upright slabs occur in its interior. One large example, at S, measures 1.2m x .94m x .14m and features two solution pits near its base. A second example, of similar proportions, occurs 10m to E. A large shallow depression in the SE sector of the site measures 7.1m x 4.6m; its significance is unclear. A number of bones were uncovered at this location during recent land improvement operations, and were subsequently reburied.
