The National Monuments Service's description
Kill Burial Ground: This site, approximately rectangular in plan, was no longer in use by the late nineteenth century. It is located in pasture on the N side of Beenarourke, directly S of a small river which flows into Ballinskelligs Bay at W. A ruined drystone wall, regularly coursed along its inner face and constructed of large slabs externally, bounds the site at N and W. Large boulders abut its E and S sides and appear to be the result of field clearance. Remnants of a lm wide entrance feature survive at E; it is marked at S by two upright slabs, measuring .9m high, and by a fallen slab at N. The interior of the site varies from .7m to 1.3m in height above external ground level, and measures 12.3m N-S x 21.2m E-W. Loose stone, including much quartz, is scattered throughout its grass-grown surface. Two upright grave-markers, standing .6m high, occur at E. Midway along the S side is a stone-lined circular depression, measuring .9m in diameter, which is filled with collapse. The purpose of this feature is uncertain.
The above description is derived from O'Sullivan, A. and Sheehan, J. (compilers) 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University press. (1996), no. 979. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
