The National Monuments Service's description
A souterrain, not marked on the OS maps, was reputedly discovered at this location, close to KE106-068----. O’Connell described two blocked souterrains ‘alongside one another’ on the slope of the hill (KAS). These are probably two passages of the one souterrain. No surface trace survives.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 848. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
