Doonbreen/Dun Braoin(?): This site is referred to locally as 'Altar Hill', a place where Mass was celebrated in Penal Times (Ó Cíobháin 1984a, 63). It is a steep-sided, rocky knoll with a flat upper surface of roughly circular outline and is located on the N shore of Darrynane Bay. The OSRNB refer to the 'remains of an old fort . . . about 3 chains E of Altar Hill'. There is, however, no indication of a monument at this location now.
