The National Monuments Service's description
In heather-clad rough hill pasture, on a W-facing slope, overlooking a river valley. The remains of a D-shaped hut site (1.8m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 0.65m; H 0.2m) with a straight W side (L 2m N-S). The W portion of the interior is raised (H 0.6m) and the E portion is cut (D 0.2m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. The interior is level. This hut site adjoins a wall from a network of relict field boundaries (KE103-040001-) along the straight W side. There is another hut site (KE103-040005-) c. 15m to the S.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
