The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on the S-facing slopes of Barrerneen and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE103-017003-). The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.7m) defined by a grassed-covered drystone wall (T 0.55m; H 0.4m). The interior is cut into the upslope at N to compensate for the hillslope. Loose stones are scattered along the perimeter NE-S. One of the relict field walls adjoins this hut site at N. There is another hut site (KE103-017002-) c. 6m to the W.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
