The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture, in the valley of the Sheen River. An oval area (31m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 8.6m; int. H 1m; ext. H 2.2m), with an external fosse (Wth 2.8m; D 0.6m) WSW-SE. Traces of drystone-walling are visible on the internal face of the bank at NW, S and E. A stone slab (H 1.1m; 1.3m x 0.4m) lies close to the internal face of the bank at ESE. The entrance (Wth 2.6m) is at SE. Mature deciduous trees grow along the top of the bank and throughout the interior. The rath is known locally as 'Lishín na mBan'. There is a children's burial ground (KE102-014002-) in the N half of the interior.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
