The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on a NW-facing slope, overlooking the valley of Lough Inchiquin. A stretch of an E-W relict field wall extends (c. 70m) upslope. The collapsed drystone wall (T 0.8m; H 0.15m) protrudes intermittently above the surface of the bog. There are traces of further walls branching off this stretch of wall to the N and S. The remains of another wall (L c. 100m) are visible to the NE. These field walls occupy an area measuring c. 160m NE-SW x c. 70m NW-SE. A possible fulacht fia (KE101-071001-) lies within the immediate area.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
