The National Monuments Service's description
A holly tree marks the location of this site, which is located about 120m S of the shores of Lough Currane. It survives as a subcircular stony spread which averages 8m in diameter. It was no longer in use by the late nineteenth century.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1000. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
