The National Monuments Service's description
This standing stone is situated on a small rise in marshy land, about 200m from the S shore of Lough Currane. Regular in elevation, it stands 2m high and measures 1m x .62m at base; N-S. It is broken, and what appears to be its upper portion lies at its base.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 179. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
