The National Monuments Service's description
This small rectangular raised area, 8.5m N-S x 6.5m E-W, averages .8m above surrounding ground level and is located in a field that overlooks Ballinskelligs Bay to SE. It was marked on the first edition of the OS map in the SW corner of a large field, but by the late nineteenth century this area had been subdivided into a number of smaller fields. Four slabs revet the S side of the site, on the upper surface of which occur a quantity of loose stone and a number of upright grave-markers. Two larger slabs, averaging 1m high and .6m wide, are located towards the S end of the platform.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 987. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
