The National Monuments Service's description

New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Grousemount, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. The remains of a hut site located on a steep and rocky northwest facing slope to west of main spine road on approach to the proposed BP-F location at ITM grid co-ord. 508721, 568809. Partially masked by vegetation, the remains of the hut are defined by an oval dry-stone wall which encloses an area measuring 4m (E-W) by 2.6m (N-S). Natural rock outcrops and the sloping terrain are used as natural shelter on the north and east sides of the feature. The dry-stone wall measures between 0.5m and 0.9m in width and 0.3m to 0.8m in height (generally one to two courses extant). The wall is highest to southeast where it is constructed upon a natural rock outcrop.
