The National Monuments Service's description
New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Grousemount, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. The remains of a rectangular structure which is located c.10m west of NICH23 at ITM grid co-ordinate 508838, 568715. The structure is formed by one to two courses of large, moss covered, dry-stones which enclose an area measuring 4.4m NE-SW by 2.1m NW-SE. The walls are on average 0.7m wide and 0.5m high, the structure appears more rudimentary than NICH23, while it may comprise the remains of a less well constructed booley hut, it is also possible that the structure may have been used to house livestock.
