The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, on the N edge of an undulating ridge, overlooking the valley of the Roughty River. A roughly oval cairn (3.3m E-W; 2.5m N-S; H 0.65m) comprising stones of various shapes and sizes. The stones are mainly local sandstones; one stone has quartz veins. The cairn is partly obscured by a dense growth of gorse and the outer perimeter has been damaged. A standing stone (KE094-067002-) at the centre of the cairn is supported by cairn material.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
