In pasture, on a N-facing slope overlooking the Roughty River. A circular area (31.7m E-W; 31m N-S), partially covered with overgrowth, defined by a low earth and stone bank (Wth 1.4m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 3.3m). An external fosse (Wth 2.2m; D 2m) is evident NNE-NNW. There is a sharp drop downslope from the bank along the N arc. The interior is level. There is a causeway entrance (Wth 2.2m) at E. The bank and fosse are densely covered with overgrowth.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
