The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the lower E-facing slopes of Carran Mountain. A relict field system occupies an area c. 240m N-S x 120m E-W. It is best preserved at the S where long stretches of a collapsed field wall protrude above thin peat cover. An E-W linear wall (L c. 110m) is at the S end of the system. A link wall (L c. 35m) extends NW from its W end. A second wall (L c. 70m) extends NW from its E end. At this NW point a link wall branches off to the W while the wall running NW continues for a further c. 90m. This then turns to the NE for a distance of c. 80m. Another wall, located in the W portion of the system, forms a roughly inverted U-shape. This wall extends N for c. 25m, veers E for a distance of c. 30m and then turns S for a further c. 20m. Upright stones (H c. 0.5m) occur at irregular intervals along this wall. The walls appear to be set on clay beneath the bog. There are ten hut sites (KE094-046001-, KE094-046003-, KE094-046004-, KE094-046005-, KE094-046006-, KE094-046007-, KE094-046008-, KE094-046009-, KE094-046010-, KE094-046011-) within this pre-bog field system.
