The National Monuments Service's description
The 'Gallaun' marked on the OS maps at this location was removed in the 1950s. It stood in a field W of Kenmare town, and approximately 400m SE of another standing stone'(KE093-028----).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 227. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
