The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a NW facing slope overlooking Kenmare Bay to the W. A rectangular area (22m N-S; 14m E-W) enclosed by recent field boundaries and wire fencing. The interior is heavily overgrown and littered with plant debris. Low burial mounds and a small number of low upright stones are perceptible under the debris. According to Dennehy (1997, 163), this burial ground 'has not been used for over one hundred years'. According to the landowner, it was 'a burial ground for unbaptised children and possibly adults' (ibid.).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
